My mother is English and as such passed down her english ways to us (or me at least). This includes a love of british telly.
Some of my favourites right now are Call the Midwife (new season out!), Downton Abbey and Taskmaster, however there are MANY more. They're good shows to put on in the background or watch when having dinner.
For me these shows come in two genres: Dramas and panel shows. These shows have introduced me to some of my favourite actors/comedians, including Bob Mortimer, Greg Davies and Charlotte Ritchie amongst many.
Panel shows include Taskmaster and Would I Lie to You and dramas include Call the midwife, Downton Abbey, Death in Paradise, Father Brown, Ghosts, Peep Show and even the Vicar of Dibley. Hopefully when i get time i'll start more of the classics.
Sitting down to watch the christmas special are the best part of the year
The hardest times i've ever cried have been because of Call the Midwife and Downton Abbey, sometimes it'll give you whiplash how fast some people are there and then they're gone. The hardest I have ever laugh is at Taskmaster and Would I Lie to You, particularly season 20 and any time Bob is on.
